Steven Pinker’s book, The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence has Declined, provides a revolutionary new perspective concerning the history of violence in the human race. Probably one of the most insightful books I have read, it is definitely worth the time to read.
For my first book by Stephen Jay Gould, I randomly chose Bully for Brontosaurus. This collection of essays provides thought provoking stories in human and biological history. I look forward to reading more of Gould’s works.
