Steven Pinker’s book, The Better Angels of Our Nature: Why Violence has Declined, provides a revolutionary new perspective concerning the history of violence in the human race. Probably one of the most insightful books I have read, it is definitely worth the time to read.
Started watching the Harvard Distinguished Lecture Series with Daniel Dennett. I enjoyed the lecture on Mind/Brain/Behavior and recommend watching it. Check out WarOnYourMind on YouTube for similar lectures.
What are thoughts? Are they words dancing around inside your head? At the most basic level, what are they? A suggestion: neural electronic pattern networks inside the brain somehow related to the patterns produced by vibrations. Look at the results in cymatics to see what these patterns probably look like.
Jason Silva creates some incredible philosophical videos. He is noted for reiterating Timothy Leary’s description of the computer and internet as the LSD of the 90’s. And his short clips are intended to be such a psychedelic experience. Really great; as most of them are based on many of the books and ideas posted in this blog. Be sure to watch his videos:
