Thich Nhat Hanh stands as a foundation for peace in the world today. His book, The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching: Transforming Suffering into Peace, Joy, and Liberation should be read by all people interested in the teachings of the Buddha. It’s rare to find a professor who teaches with the enthusiasm and fun of MIT Professor, Walter Lewin. Which is why I highly recommend the his video lectures on Physics. Also, I would suggest watching the physics lectures of Richard Feynman.
His video courses include:
Physics I – Classical Mechanics
Physics II – Electricity and Magnetism
Physics III – Vibration and Waves
A great summary of the human endeavor: Cosmos. Carl Sagan does a wonderful job outlining the history of the universe. After watching the series, a viewer will have gained a deep insight into everything. This series would be a perfect choice for high-school students; I am surprised I only heard of it recently. It’s a must see for everyone.
